I share your feels. I want to know in what universe is a 15 year-old girl expected to recognize on sight that she is betrothed to a homicidal maniac with a cruel streak the size of Montana. In what universe is a 15-year-old expected to act out against that same homicidal maniac who is also the KING and is backed by his equally sociopathic mother as well as hundreds of men trained with swords who ALSO ORCHESTRATED THE DEATH OF HER FATHER AND FORCED HER TO LOOK AT HER FATHER’S DECAPITATED HEAD. 

THE ENTIRE POINT WITH BOTH SANSA AND NED IS THAT THEY BOTH DID NOT KNOW HOW THE GAME WAS PLAYED WHEN THEY ARRIVED IN KING’S LANDING. They are Starks, and Starks put honor above EVERYTHING. And if Ned, the Lord of Winterfell and veteran of how many wars, played the game and died, WHY DOES EVERYONE EXPECT SANSA, A 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL RAISED BY GOOD, DECENT PARENTS WHO ALSO LOVED EACH OTHER, WHO IS BEING HELD PRISONER AND KNOWS THAT HER BROTHER IS NEXT ON JOFFREY’S HIT LIST, WHO HAS NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED TO HER SISTER, WHOSE LITTLE BROTHER WAS CRIPPLED BY THE VERY FAMILY THAT IS HOLDING HER HOSTAGE WHO ALSO DEMANDED THE DEATH OF HER BELOVED PET, TO RECOGNIZE THAT JOFFREY AND THE LANNISTERS ARE THE VERY MONSTERS THAT SHE’S BEEN SHIELDED FROM HER ENTIRE LIFE. 

Oh, that’s right, they expect Sansa to magically know these things and to grab a sword and just slash her way back to Winterfell. How telling that people hate and shame Sansa for not “doing something to get out of her situation” think NO such thing of the other prisoner of war, Jaime Lannister, who also hasn’t done a damn thing to orchestrate his own release. Now, how could that possibly be? Oh, right, Jaime is a dude. How silly of me to forget.
