Mark was never on my list of favorite wrestlers, not really someone I would buy a ticket to see or a PPV to watch, but his career was a hell of an accomplishment. Multi-time champ, World’s Strongest Man, an impressive opponent for anyone on the roster. It’s really nice to see him get such a heartfelt and badass sendoff.

HO SHIT. MARK PLAYED US. AWESOME.

I was legit on the verge of tears at the thought of Mark retiring, and I am still on the verge of tears at how wonderful that segment was and how wonderful he is and LET’S GET THIS MAN AN EMMY BEST ACTOR IN WWE BY FAR.

That entire segment was seriously “Daniel Bryan Wins MITB” level for me, not even gonna lie.

As much as I am marking out for Steph & AJ in the same ring, promoing the hell out of each other (because if AJ hasn’t been studying Steph promos for months, I will eat my very nice hat), WWE is, as usual, doing shit wrong when it comes to women.

The absolute *screaming* irony of having Stephanie McMahon, queen bitch extraordinaire, lecturing AJ on “tearing women down” is beyond ridiculous. Do we not - oh, of course we don’t remember when Steph was an active wrestler and personality, and not just Hunter’s wife/Vince’s daughter. We’re not supposed to remember that. AJ’s doing exactly what Steph did when she was younger, was just as “crazy” and screaming and manipulative. And I think they lost out on an opportunity to build off that - have Steph lecture, but have her admit “look, I *was* you, I fought with other women and I was a bitch, and I still can be, but I learned”. 

And then, of course, we’re supposed to root for Kaitlyn for being the victim. She has to be consoled upon her loss and supported by the other Divas - which makes her look weak. It doesn’t help that Steph steamrolls her, kills her promo dead in the water by cutting her off and telling her to never interrupt her again. If she were an active wrestler/personality, they could build off this, but Kaitlyn won’t ever get the chance to get back at Steph, look stronger. 

Yet again, WWE, you take something that had a boatload of potential, and reduce it to the lowest common denominator. Face!Steph can be a leader without drawing focus from the other Divas. Kaitlyn can be upset without looking like a doormat. AJ can be awesome and manipulative and the next coming of Steph and it’s not a bad thing.

No flaws detected here. On the one hand, I’m really happy about AJ and Kaitlyn being the focus of the division, and I’m really happy that they have an actual STORY. And I also love Steph, but we really, really, REALLY DID NOT NEED THAT SEGMENT TO HAPPEN. I don’t know WHAT the fucking purpose is of having Vince, Steph, and Triple H being such a focal point. And I’m also tired of this recent trend of them endorsing or putting down talent (i.e. Steph/AJ tonight, Triple H dismissing Curtis Axel, Vince FUCKING ENDORSING THE SHIELD ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME). It just screams of them trying to control what their audience should think of certain talent. The audience cheered AJ and Curtis last night, so Vince and co has to come out and “remind” the audience that they’re the bad guys and we shouldn’t like them? Ugh shut up it’s 2013 and we’re all capable of choosing who to like and not like.

Also I LOLED LOLED LOLED LOLED at Steph telling AJ she’s degrading to women when Jerry Lawler is the fucking conducter of the BITCHES BE CRAZY train wow I just can’t.

If WWE’s plan to make us care about Randy Orton is to make him care about D Bry, it will probably work. Even I will tolerate him as long as Orton is ALL about D Bry.

I stand corrected. 

THERE ARE SOME PLUSES TO THIS, THOUGH.

1. It was not Hornswaggle.

2. It wasn’t the fucking Bellas.

3. It makes total sense that AJ would do this.

4. It just makes the feud between them even more complex.

5. I’m sad that Big E was playing her as part of AJ’s plan, but I’m sad FOR Kaitlyn, not because the story sucks or anything.

6. Good for you, WWE. Good for you.
