From the recent Attitude Era DVD, in regards to the storyline where he hooked up with a transvestite:

“I have people, you know, coming up to me all the time going ‘That was real cool of you to be so comfortable with, you know, homosexuality and somebody that’s a transvestite.’ And I was like, ‘I never thought about it.’ You might inspire somebody, make somebody feel more comfortable with themself.”

The fact that he’s able to view a storyline originally intended to not only shame homosexuality/crossdressing/anything not cis-male and heterosexual but also to make fun of his character, and turn it into a POSITIVE and UPLIFTING thing makes me love him more than I already do.

Aww, thank you! The XMFC days were a fun time, and I’m really happy that you decided to stick around once I moved away from it.

As far as those tags are concerned, I’m actually kinda…confused by them? What does OP mean, that feminism makes our lives HARDER? That just doesn’t compute for me. Sure, there are very problematic issues with the feminist movement. And being a feminist does make things like consumption of media more difficult, in that you are CONSTANTLY recognizing misogyny in everything. But making our lives harder? A movement that championed our right to vote and to own property? That just makes no sense.

The best thing to do, anon, is just ignore it, move on, and maybe post some of your own awesome ladies on your blog.
